Darfur: Justice will never come through ICC

(Down below is part of a discussion on the sudanese discussion list)

Dear Friends

Peace never come with warrants from the ICC. At least that was not either proven by our recent history since the inception of the ICC, not even in former Yugoslavia. It only comes after a comprehensive reconciliation and true genuine peace initiatives. If you really believe that peace will land in Darfur if Beshir land in the Tirbunal in Haug, then you’re wrongSince its inception in July 2002 it has indicted only Africans (see the list below). Don't expect that the ICC will issue a warrant on Levini, Ihud Barak and other Israli criminals,,

I think more warrants will follow and the rebels have to find some names to be presented to the court in reward for Omar Elbashir. I can also sure you that there are at least 20 names on the black list of the ICC from other countries waiting for thier tour to come,,

Taylor and Milosevic were not at power when they handed over to the ICC. And here is the dilemma. There are countries who are not members of the ICC and see the issue as a violation of their sovereignty and integrity. There are countries that see the issue as a violation to their own judicial system. Sudan is holding African countries together in this issue and that was apparent during the last AU meeting in Addis Abeba.

A friend of mine said that justice should not be selective. And I say: Justice has no colour, no senses but only a blind justice I know. This is what I’m also working for: A just world and solidarity with the poor and weak. I really don’t care about Omar Elbashir as a person or a leader, but I do care about a nation and all those innocent people who lost their lives in every spot in Sudan, the recent was in Malakal. For that matter I’m ready to contribute with you to help anyone from the victims to testify anywhere there is justice. But it is not in the Hague.
Do you deny the massacre of the Israelis against the Palestinians? Don’t you think that even justice is need there as well as in Darfur?

Even leaders who came to power through democratic elections should not have impunity against justice. George W. Bush has to be indicted by the ICC for a massacre of 650000 Iraqis and 300000 Afghanis. Yesterday 7 shops were burned in a suburb of Stockholm known Sodertalje by a group known Global Intifada. Their demand was boycott of the American products because of 650000 Iraqis has lost their lives because of the American invasion to Iraq. Although I don’t support such an act, but it shows how justice is tilted and I only want justice.
